1. Consultation
Your appointment begins with an open, unhurried conversation. We will take time to understand your skin history, any areas of concern, your sun exposure history, and any relevant family history.
2. Full-Body Examination
A thorough, head-to-toe skin examination is performed using dermoscopy - a specialised magnification tool that allows for detailed assessment of moles, lesions and pigmented spots beneath the surface of the skin. Every area of the body is examined with care and precision.
3. Clinical Assessment
Any areas identified as requiring closer attention will be carefully assessed and documented. If a lesion raises concern, a biopsy may be recommended to determine its nature. Our team will always explain findings clearly, so you leave with a full understanding of your skin health.
4. Biopsy (if required)
Where a biopsy is indicated, this is performed with skill and care in our clinic. A small tissue sample is collected and sent to a pathology laboratory for analysis. We will guide you through what to expect before, during and after the procedure, and follow up with your results promptly.
5. Personalised Care Plan

A full-body skin check typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the number of lesions to assess and the complexity of your skin history. We always allow enough time to be thorough.

No referral is required. You can contact us directly to book your skin check appointment.

For most adults, an annual full-body skin check is recommended. If you have a personal or family history of skin cancer, a higher number of moles, or significant sun damage, more frequent checks may be advised. Your personalised care plan will include a recommended review schedule.

We recommend wearing comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing. A full skin examination covers the entire body, so clothing that is simple to take off and put back on makes the process more comfortable for you.

Not every skin check requires a biopsy. A biopsy is only recommended when a lesion or spot requires further pathological investigation to confirm its nature. If a biopsy is indicated, Dr Miriam will explain exactly what is involved and answer any questions you may have before proceeding.

Following your appointment, you will receive a personalised care plan outlining any findings, recommended follow-up, and next steps. If a biopsy has been taken, results are typically returned from pathology within 7–10 days and we will contact you promptly to discuss them.

We recommend arriving with clean, bare skin where possible - minimal makeup, moisturiser or fake tan is preferred, as these can obscure the skin's surface.
