If you are new to retinol, have sensitive skin or have had irritation with retinol products in the past, we always recommend starting with the 0.3. Begin by applying it every 3 days for the first 3 weeks, then increase to every 2 days or as directed. If your skin tolerates this well after 6-8 weeks, you can consider stepping up to the 1.0 in consultation with Jess.

The Retinol+ Emulsion is specifically formulated to minimise the peeling and sensitivity that is common with traditional retinol products. The combination of botanical retinol, Bakuchiol and Extremozymes® supports retinol activity in a gentler delivery system. Some mild sensitivity during the first few weeks of use is normal and expected — this typically settles as your skin adjusts.

Retinol should always be applied at night, as it can degrade when exposed to UV light and increases the skin's photosensitivity. Apply 2-3 pumps to clean, dry skin and follow with your moisturiser. Every morning, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ — this is non-negotiable when using any retinol product.

Yes. A popular and effective combination is the Super Serum Advance+ (Vitamin C) applied in the morning and the Retinol+ Emulsion at night. Avoid applying retinol in the same application as AHAs or BHAs, as this can increase irritation risk for some skin types.
